College teams dominate the sports action in Iowa. With no professional teams to cheer for, all the attention goes to the two big schools in the state: the Iowa State Cyclones and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. Iowa State Cyclones fans can be found in Ames and nearby Des Moines. With a top-25 ranked football program, Iowa State plays in the NCAA Division I’s Big Ten Conference. Hockey action at its best. The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders US Hockey League Team is serious about their sport. When it comes to hockey, this Tier 1 junior league team has been in in Cedar Rapids since 1999. They won the Anderson Cup and the Clark Cup titles in 2004/2005 and won the Anderson Cup title again in 2010/2011.
