The diverse South of Boston area consists of two main counties, Bristol on the southwestern side, and Plymouth to the east coast. Within Plymouth lives the South Shore, lying along the Atlantic Coast from just south of Boston, down to the Cape Cod border.

South of Boston is also home to the stadium of which the beloved NFL’s New England Patriots take the field. Gillette Stadium in Foxboro can get pretty lively on game days so make sure you wear some navy, red and white.
If travelling with the family, there’s no better way to spend the day then at the Buttonwood Park Zoo, the oldest in Massachusetts. For some fishing, sailing, picnicking and scenic walking trails, head to Fall River Heritage State Park and Take a walk along the Taunton River and check out actual World War II battleships at Battleship Cove. Open sunrise to sunset, Pilgrim Memorial State Park is set on the Atlantic coast and is home to historic Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II museum. Over in East Taunton, Massasoit State Park's trails are perfect for bike enthusiasts and hikers. Plan your visit in any season, but the fall brings particularly beautiful foliage with contrasted colors betwixt scarlet cranberry bogs and pine trees.
