Travel back in time at The LaBrea Tar Pits & Museum along Wilshire Boulevard. See a 14,500 year-old juniper tree and watch paleontology in action as “Ice Age” comes to life with mammoth-sized fossils from that era. 

Magic Behind The Movies 

See where all the action and magic of the movies are produced at Universal Studios®, or get your thrills on one of the theme park’s rides. Later, hit the strip at Universal CityWalk® lined with movie theatres, bars and restaurants. 

Drive by the Brady Bunch house, or lend your laughter as a studio audience member in Studio City. Century City, home to Fox Studios, is where you may spot directors, actors and producers on-set, or dining and shopping at the outdoor shopping plaza, Westfield Century City. Culver City once housed the original MGM Studios and today it’s the Sony Pictures Studio. Climb up Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook featuring panoramic views and nature trails. 

Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles hosts popular sports arenas and centers such as the Los Angeles Convention Center, Dodger Stadium, and L.A. LIVE, a major entertainment district that surrounds the Staples Center, home to the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers. Grab a bite with a Latin American flair along Olvera Street, peruse the arts districts near Little Tokyo, and shop among more than 4,500 designers in the Fashion/Jewelry District, a wholesale market boasting some of the best sample sales. Bring some cash and your best bargain hunting skills along Santee Alley, the district’s open air bazaar.   

Sherman Oaks & Pasadena 
Take one from Tom Petty and “move west on Ventura Boulevard” to shop vintage stores, grab a drink and chow down on some of the best sushi in Los Angeles. Visiting in January? Stop in Pasadena for the annual New Year’s Day Rose Parade and Rose Bowl, the NCAA’s National Football Championship.

Exposition Park & Leimert Park
South of downtown and right across from the University of Southern California (USC), Exposition Park features the California Science Center, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Natural History Museum and the Rose Garden. Neighboring Leimert Park was home to Ray Charles and Ella Fitzgerald and a common gathering place for jazz and hip-hop artists and poetry slams. Today, the area serves up soul food from spicy BBQ to authentic Jamaican cuisine 

Beaches 
The Pacific Coast Highway winds its way down the coast, connecting some of the most amazing views and beaches along this famous roadway. Grab a surf board and head to these famous beaches: 

Malibu
Surf with the pros on Malibu’s Pacific waves and take in spectacular waterfront views along historic Malibu Pier. While in the area, travel back to ancient Greece, Rome and Etruria at The Getty Villa housing a collection of approximately 44,000 antiquities. 

Santa Monica
Continue down the coast and walk the Santa Monica Pier to try your hand at one of the 200 arcade games, ride the historic 1922 Carousel, see a movie as part of the year-round Santa Monica Film Festival, or check out the sea life at The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium.

Venice Beach
A premier destination near Marina del Rey, walk the Venice Beach Boardwalk and watch the Gold’s Gym bodybuilders flexing their muscles, or stroll Abbot Kinney for some of the city’s coolest street art. 

Hermosa Beach
Keep cruising down the coast, to Manhattan Beach for some of the best seafood, fine dining and local breweries. Spike a volleyball or sunbathe at Hermosa Beach. Shop Redondo Beach’s eclectic boutiques and then climb on board the Battleship USS Iowa in San Pedro.

Orange County Beaches
Visit Newport Beach for its pristine Corona del Mar State Beach – great for surfing and diving, not to mention sunbathing and volleyball. Make your way to Huntington Beach or Bolsa Chica State Beach, or hit the trails on foot, mountain bike or by horse at the 2,400 acre Crystal Cove State Park, located in Laguna Beach.

San Juan Capistrano & Dana Point
