Dibler’s Contributions to Best Western Hotels & Resorts Recognized by ORBIE Awards


Phoenix, Arizona (April 29, 2021) Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ Vice President of Technology Management, Harold Dibler, has been recognized for his excellence in technology leadership by ORBIE Awards with the CIO of the Year accolade.

The award presented by ORBIE honors technology leaders who are inspiring and challenge all technology professionals to step up and lead well in their organizations. The winners of this accolade are making a difference in transforming their organizations with technology and enriching the world. Dibler was selected by the awards committee for his strategic and innovative approach to technology management.

In his role with Best Western Hotels & Resorts, Dibler oversees the company’s critical technology areas of application development and delivery, enterprise architecture, and infrastructure and operations. He has over 30 years of application development and systems integration experience in education, manufacturing, financial and hospitality industries.

Dibler began his career after receiving an Associates of Arts degree in Computer Programming. He joined Best Western Hotels & Resorts in 1998 as the Manager of Business Applications. In this role, Dibler directed the design and development of applications utilizing life cycle methodology and evaluated, recommended and selected application systems. In 2002, Dibler was promoted to Managing Director of Business Technology and was responsible for software architecture, development and integration. Dibler was also instrumental in the adoption and implementation of several critical business services utilizing XML and OpenTravel standards. Prior to working for Best Western Hotels & Resrots, Dibler held several senior positions in Information Services, including vice president of MIS and Client Services for FM Service Corporation as well as director of MIS for Fujitsu Business Communication Systems and General Telephone and Electric (GTE).
