Best Western® Achieves Highest Levels of Guest Satisfaction To-Date

Portfolio of brands receives record number of Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards


Phoenix, Arizona (August 6, 2020) – Best Western® Hotels & Resorts announced today that an outstanding 2,037 hotels globally received the coveted Tripadvisor® Travelers’ Choice Award for 2020, yielding another record-setting year in guest satisfaction. These award-winning properties span across Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ diverse portfolio, as well as its associated brands - SureStay Hotel Group® and WorldHotels® Collection. The brand overall has seen a significant increase in the number of hotels that have received this honor since 2019. This high level of guest satisfaction is a testament to the caring spirit that has exemplified Best Western-branded hotels for nearly 75 years.

This recognition, formerly known as the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence, recognizes businesses that earn consistently great user reviews. Travelers’ Choice winners are among the top 10% of businesses on Tripadvisor.

In 2020, a record number of Best Western-branded hotels received a Travelers’ Choice Award, with nearly 60% of its active hotels in North America receiving this distinctive honor.

Additionally, SureStay Hotel Group and WorldHotels Collection continue to experience unprecedented levels of guest satisfaction, with both brands seeing impressive YoY increases – with SureStay up 50%, and WorldHotels up 45%.

These significant achievements in guest satisfaction come on the heels of SureStay Hotel Group being named No.1 in the economy segment in J.D. Power’s 2020 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Study. The brand achieved the highest score in the segment across six critical factors including Reservations, Arrival/Departure, Guest Room, Service & Amenities, Hotel Facilities, and Cost & Fees.
