KVIKNES HOTELL

FLEISCHERS HOTEL

A grand landmark of Western Norway since the 19th century, Fleischer’s Hotel in Voss is a striking example of historic Swiss chalet architecture set at the crossroads of fjords, mountains, and railways. Founded in 1864 by Fredrik Lyth Ørum Fleischer—and rebuilt in dazzling Swiss chalet style by architect Peter Andreas Blix after an 1889 fire—the hotel’s iconic spires, pointed towers, and bay windows evoke its storied past. For six generations, the Fleischer family has welcomed travelers—from Emperor Wilhelm II and Edvard Grieg to today’s curious explorers.

Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri, located in the historic fishing village of Bekkjarvik, has welcomed travelers by sea and land since the late 17th century, when King Christian IV decreed a guesthouse every half-day’s journey along the coast. Today, the property consists of a charming ensemble of white wooden houses along the harbor and the nearby Beckerwyc House boutique hotel. The guesthouse offers 48 individually styled rooms, set within the historic buildings, while Beckerwyc House adds 20 modern rooms overlooking the water. 

Mornings begin with breakfast delivered to your room or shared in the main house, before you set out on coastal adventures: e-bike tours, island hikes through pine forests and wind-swept moorlands, fishing trips or a soothing stop in the harbor-side sauna at Juthålo.
