Great stay

posted May 24, 2012

We stayed here for only one night, but wished we could have stayed longer. The room was nice, clean. The property was beautiful, with gorgeous mountain views. We also enjoyed the pool. A big plus with this hotel is that you are only one block off the main street with all the shops and restaurants, no need for the car. Since May is considered the start of their slow season, we were able to get a room at a great price. Would love to go back and stay there again.

Close to everything downtown

The hotel was conveniently located right off the main strip in Downtown Palm Springs. The room was very roomy with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Mattresses were new (but hard and made it hard for me to sleep), bathroom looked refurbished with soap/shampoo dispensers (but no ventilation because overhead fan wasnt working), and they had nice widescreen tv's (but cable had static). Concierge was courteous and they kept the premises, including the pool area, clean.

Relax and recharge

We stayed for a few days right before Mother's Day and after Coachella and the place was super quiet . All we did was sleep, eat and sit by the pool and that's totally what we were looking for. The staff was helpful, the grounds well maintained. The room was not incredibly fancy but who cares, all you do is sleep in there, and for the great price we got it was awesome; there was a little fridge and microwave for snacks. Go during the off season, totally worth it for the peace and quiet and for watching the stars through the palm trees from the hot tub every night.

Great Deal & Great Stay!

We had an awesome time lounging beside the pool. Try to get a room on the first floor -- it's so convenient for getting to and from the pool! The hotel is located in a great spot, close to lots of restaurants. And it's close to the bus stop too if you don't want to drive out to other nearby places like Palm Desert. The morning staff is wonderful & incredibly helpful. They helped us plan our day trip to Palm Desert to go to the Loving Desert Zoo. And George was great too! He drove us back to the airport and told us about all the different events that happen throughout the year in Palm Springs. We'll definitely come back again!

Some Good, Some Not So Good

posted May 5, 2012

Let's start with the good: The rooms are clean if somewhat dark. Because our room was ground-level and faced other rooms with grass and sidewalk in between we had plantation shutters which was a nice touch instead of curtains to give privacy. The pool was really nice and kept at a warm temperature. The room was amazingly quiet for being in that location. Here comes the Not So Good: (1) The pillows are a disgrace. If you like lumpy, bumpy, these pillows are for you. I don't, so we should have brought our own as our friends did. (2) Where do they get their Resort Fees? Included in their Resort Fees are very mundane things including a daily newspaper which we never received nor did anyone else. These fees jack up the room rate. They even charged us a $50 deposit in case we used their telephone. We had to sort it all out when we checked out which took awhile.
