turns a blind eye to unscrupulous timeshare marketing practices

posted May 23, 2012

i accompanied a 78 year old neighbor on what she told me was a cruise she got for a great deal. when she mentioned that all she had to do was sit in some presentation for 90 minutes, i figured it was a timeshare deal - well, i sat with her. it was almost 5 hours long. the salesperson was extremely knowledgable and not pushy as others I observed, but the manager was very aggressive and if i had not been there, would have convinced this elderly woman to sign up. the promises made to her by the marketing company were bogus and palm shores claimed to have no knowledge or control over the marketing tactics. i don't believe that for a minute. they profit from these companies luring in gullible people from all over the country who think that they are getting a vacation deal - yeah right, the add ons and subpar accomodations, coupled with the sales tactics, never make this a good deal!!! this place is a renovated hotel. pool nice, beach nice, rooms okay as remodeled, and perhaps a nice place to stay for a weekend, but obviously a timeshare with its room of sales people. and why would anyone think that this place was a crown place when the sales personnel are dressed so casually and unprofessionally. ours was okay, but i saw women in dresses that belonged in a nightclub, not on an agent for a business. perhaps if they required a more uniform look - including shirts and ties on men and a business dress on women, they would be a bit more convincing.

High Pressure....DON'T go to "TIME SHARE" presentation!!

posted May 7, 2012

...unless you expect to be held hostage to received your cruise boarding passes. The best part of our 6 hr visit was when the valet returned our car. They told us when we agreeded to this presentation it would last 1 1/2hrs. Well, 6 hours later after the high pressure salesman FRANK, finally threw the signed paper at us we were able to receive our boarding pass for our cruise, that was also only mediocre. Why would you think anyone would agree to membership at this location after this type of treatment. Bully lost out on this one !!

Best Vacation in years

posted May 7, 2012

I must say this is the best vacation my son, myself and our two friends have had in a long time. The staff was very polite and helpfull, check-in was a breeze. We had called the hotel in advance to request two beds in the room as I was sharing it with my adult son, when we arrived, much to our surprise we had a two bedroom suite, which is almost the size of the first floor of my house. Our corner suite looked out on the ocean as well as the parking lot, however the view from the parking lot was just as nice, as you could see along the beach and the skyline of the marina. Yes, we did get the sales pitch from the timeshare people, we did go to the sales pitch and had a great breakfast with Mark, but as I am already an owner at this resort, I advised Mark, I wasnt interested in buying anywhere else and we enjoyed the rest of the time just talking with him This is only the second time we have been here in three years and the changes to the hotel have made it even better than it was in 2010. We rented the cabana and chairs on the beach for the three days that it wasnt raining and Mike and Chris were great, making sure we had everything we needed. We visited the market on Thursday night that is held at the sailfish marina, lots of artisans were there with their crafts, it was very nice to see all the different products, some of which we purchased, acrilic art and pictures of a sail boat that had washed up on the beach of our hotel the two days before. We visited the Gardens Mall, which was very nice, the info booth provides you with a carry bag, brocuhres, bottle of water and coupons. Then we travelled to the Sawgrass Mills Mall (1 1/2 hour drive) were they have 400 stores, if you go to this mall, be prepared to do alot of walking. All in all we had a great time, I dont think we will be venturing to far away from our home resort, as it has everything we want in a great hotel, location and friendly staff.

Check-in 4 pm Really? We called early in the day to request an earlier check-in as we were going to an affair that evening. The front desk was not helpful on the phone and not helpful upon arrival either. They appear to give priority - for everything - to their perspective buyers. In fact, there is a large very pretty room directly behind the front desk that is reserved only for sales seminars. We had to beg the manager to release a room - any room to us at 3:30. Check out 10 am. - again, unusual. Sunday morning resort guests enjoying the pool and deck...pool repair tech replacing the underwater pool light. Tools and wires all over the deck. Restaurant was good, so was the service. But the room was a bit musty. Beach was very nice - 30.00 a day for two chairs and an umbrella.
