Enjoyed the great accross the street location. Bought a package with free parking otherwise it is $20/day. Our 5th floor beach tower room was in dire need of an update. The sir conditioner made a wet spot on the floor and the shower head was loose and would fall off and hit us in the head. My tough little 10 yr old son got hit the hardest because it had some momentum and it fell the farthest. Brought him tears after a long day of surfing. It did leave a bump. The rest of the stuff I can tolerate but seriously that shower should be fixed! Overall I feel a bit overcharged for the quality of the room but location may make up for it.

We stayed at the Pacific Beach Hotel for 5 nights before going to "The Big Island". The location of this hotel is absolutely awesome!!! Right opposite Waikiki Beach and the bus that takes you to Ala Moana Shopping Centre. It is a great location for night shopping and right at the beginning of all the dining places for dinner etc. The hotel is a little aged, and could do with a refurbishment. The staff are outstanding and willing to help in any way they can. Our room was nice and clean, and once again could do with a little doing up. We would stay here again, for the value for money and lcoation of the hotel.

After a 8 night stay on the Big Island, our nonstop flight from Kona to Oakland had mechanical trouble and we had to stop in Honolulu to fix the plane. The airline put all us passengers up for the night at the Pacific Beach Hotel. I have been to Waikiki many times but always stayed on the beach as opposed to across the street. The hotel is in a great location, close to everything. The hotel is about 10 years behind in needing a renovation. Old and tired decor, furniture etc... We were in the Ocean Tower and the view of the beach from the balcony was great. For us, the airline paid for it so it was ok. If I was paying for it, I would've checked out immediately and stay elsewhere. The shampoo provided by the hotel was 'made in China'. Seriously, how cheap can they get?

It's not the Ritz, but if you want an affordable holiday in Waikiki, then the Pacific Beach Hotel is ok. It's hard to justify the prices that the hotels charge in Waikiki - your Sheration's, Marriott's etc are stark rooms with a ridiculous price tag, so we chose the 3 1/2 star Pacific Beach Hotel - right across the road from the beach, close to everthing. For around $160 per night for an ocean front room, including breakfast buffet it was quite reasonable. Our room was old, but perfectly functional, the balcony (lanei) was a good size, with chairs and a table and overlooked the beach. The hotel itself is tired and out of date, the countless tour counters and bad shops were ordinary, but there is plenty close by to keep you shoppers occupied. The pool is a joke, some afterthought on the 5th floor that is tiny and the surrounding area is less than appealing - the pool area also doubles as the designated smoking area. But of course - the beach is straight across the street. The 'spa' is kind of sad - sorely out of date, nothing matches, it's a hotch potch of chairs and old magazines, yet they charge top dollar - give it a miss. There is a 3 storey high aquarium in the hotel they you can view from the dining room - it's pretty cool, but would have rathered the pool be better. Each to their own. The breakfast buffet was quite good, good range of food, juices, fruits, cereals and hot selection - can't complain at all. Must mention that there is an independant 24hour gym located on level 2 at the front of the hotel - their 6am classes can be loud, with whistles and music. We didn't hear it at any other time of the day and only heard the 6am classes a couple of times, but it was a pain. Like I said, it has it's faults, but when you look at the big name prices - they are hard to justify. Decent value.

First Stay but many time visitor to hawaii. Best location in Waikiki. The hotel is old but they do the best to maintain it. Definately would return
