i arrived in sintra late at night and hotel tivoli was all that i could readily find. even thought i arrived as the kitchen was closing, the waitstaff and chef made me a late night meal. i was incredibly surprised in the morning when i saw the breathtaking valley/mountain and castle views from my private lanai. the room itself was lovely. the breakfast buffet was great. the location was perfect for exploring by foot and by car. i will be back !

This '70's hotel really needs an update. It's old, worn out, outdated, it smells of mold and all the furniture in the rooms, the rooms itself, and the bathroom (brrrrr), the bed, the sheets.. horrible. Besides this, no style at all - it feels like a cheap USA motel. But wait: there is one thing that is really great: the views of the rooms at the backside are stunning as is the view from the breakfast room. So only the location makes this hotel interesting. My honest advice?: tear it down and build a new (smaller) one.

we totally lucked into this place - the view is spectacular and talk about the perfect location. while the hotel is definitely dated, it was clean and the staff were so friendly and pleasant to deal with. we had port on patio served by jose who has worked there for 28 years and francisco at the front desk for 32 - talk about loyal employees!! the breakfast was delicious and worth the 10 euro each, we ate breakfast and lunch at the same time, lol. it helped make our sintra visit a pleasure! (loved the lemon-scented bath products).

Very nice spacious rooms. Well situated in the heart of the historic centre, with many reastaurants within walking distance. There is a limited parking in front of the hotel but we were always lucky enough to get a space. We got an excellent rate by booking through the Easyjet website.

I spent some days on a conference, that took place at the hotel. The rooms are quite large, with a small balcony. Huge windows give an amazing view over the valley. The bathroom is fresh and clean with a lot of towels. When it comes to the restaurant, I had breakfast and lunch there. I really liked the breakfast, the lunch was ok. The hotel is in the middle of Sintra centre, with restaurants and small touristshops nearby.
