We stayed here in February for a business trip. The location is perfect downtown and close to the Palace. I had read some mediocre reviews, saying that the accomodations are old and dated. However, I found that the hotel was still very nice and the service is top notch. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. I liked all of the artwork in the hallways. Breakfast was good and I had really no complaints. I noticed that a renovation project was going on on the top floor, where some of our group stayed, but I did not hear any of them complain about being inconvenienced by it. I highly recommend staying here and I would do so again. It was a nice change from the typical chain hotel (although it is a part of the Rica hotel chain, so you do also get points for staying).

Fantastic location but very dated interior, it needs a complete renovation. I'll come back only if they upgrade.

Stayed in this hotel with my husband and we managed to get an amazing deal. We had a gorgeous room and managed to have a very good night's sleep. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good, and they were quite flexible as we did turn up for breakfast a little late each morning, My brother who lives in Norway was very impressed that we actually stayed in this hotel as he told us that it's where all the celebrities stay when they visit Oslo. Not sure that we would be able to afford to stay here on a regular basis, just lucky to have got a very good deal,

Great location in the most famous street of Oslo. 5 min walk from station. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is great and is really 5 stars! Rooms are good but not perfect (little dated and could be cleaner). But the hotel has the nice atmosphere of 'a grand old lady'. Did there best to check us in really early. Our room was noisy due to a bar next to the hotel. But the reception gave us another room quickly and without discussion. Would recommend it.

I spent 3 nights here and really enjoyed it. Oslo is quite expensive so we hung out in the room a bit in the evening after dinner. The staff are really friendly and helpful. There is a fabulous spa and pool upstairs. The pool is more for relaxation than for kids as it's quite dark in that area, with low lighting and loungers next to the pool for people to relax. There is a rooftop bar in this hotel too with fabulous views of Oslo. The hotel is in the centre of everything. The main pedestrian shopping street is out the main door of the hotel on the left, the parliament building is right outside the door, the port is straight down a few blocks from the hotel. Breakfast is an amazing buffet with so many different types of bread, fruit, juice, fish, cooked bacon, eggs etc. There wasn't anything else I could have wished for here.
