This hotel puts you in the centre for all the sights in Luxembourg. Staff are polite and helpfully, breakfast was included but isn't great. Our room was a bit tired, mainly the bathroom. Our balcony had Quite a few old cigarette butts on it- this is pretty disgusting. Wouldn't stay again, and can't see how it's a 4 star.

Nicely located, in the center, very close to anything you might want to visit, easy to access restaurants, bars and clubs from it. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and tidy! Someone would clean it every single day. However, the room was not a 4*, more of a 3*+. With all its antique charm, it needs a bit more to have the sense of luxury you would normally expect. What was disappointing was that the internet was NOT free and, moreover, very expensive (around 6 euro/ hour??), which makes you wonder why you need to actually pay for WIFI in 2012, in a 4* hotel... Another thing was that if you accidentally misplaced the key, you would need to pay an extra 60 euro for it! It does not make sense. Also, being 5 minutes late the day you leave, at check-out, leads towards the payment of an extra night!! No one is looking to be late intentionally, but paying 100 euro just for coming down the hall 2 minutes after 12.00 is outrageous. They blame it on their system. Although we had a nice stay, overall, it was the first and last time at H. Cravat. Sadly, we will not consider this hotel anymore, in our future trips to Lux.

Well, I read reviews and understand quite well those who say that this hotel needs a bit of renovation. Indeed, some rooms are not the best, telephones, TV sets are very old... But still the hotel has charm, it is the old style with some things quite fascinating (old elevator, for instance). Also it is located in the heart of the old town, everything is max 5 min walk. My room was execellent, with nice view, very clean, pleasant lights, comfortable bed and a lot of space. The service was also excellent: efficient at the reception, plus the room was cleaned twice a day. And a nice little surprise in the evening: a little chocolate and weather forecast for tomorrow. I liked it and felt like at home!

Photographs of Omar Bradley and the Aga Khan are proudly displayed in the foyer...if you ask Who? then this is probably not for you. Ladies Beyond A Certian Age all dine here, and it smalls of cigarette smoke. Great location, average breakfast, not retro just tired.

As some of the other reviews point out, this is an antiquated hotel. There is some charm remaining, but this is probably not the hotel for a romantic getaway. I traveled for business and selected a low-cost room. The window faced an interior wall, which was a bit depressing. However, I assume that the more expensive rooms would have some amazing views. My room and the hotel common areas were clean, but the area outside my window was full of trash and cigarette butts. The service was very good. I arrived early but was immediately accommodated. The internet prices are high but the service is easy to use. Overall, I was pleased with the assistance the staff provided. The hotel’s location is perfect. One direction faces the river valley with the casements visible below. The other direction leads into the adjacent market district. There are many eateries nearby, from cheap fast food to elegant restaurants. A taxi queue is conveniently located in front of the lobby. The hotel has a bar and restaurant. A breakfast buffet is included in the room rate. The buffet was better than expected and included scrambled eggs as well as the traditional continental items. I’d recommend this hotel if you are sightseeing on a budget (or on foot). This is also a good choice if you have business in the city and just need a convenient place to sleep. If you prefer more luxury, a more expensive hotel is in order. There are several options in the immediate area. If you have a car, perhaps staying outside the city center is a better option.
