The hotel itself is near perfect. Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant is a great way to start a surely jetlaged business day! I liked the gym and fitness facilities too, but a bit pricey for that. I asked and got a special deal on AM rates (Free before noon). And they open early (7am) for Japan! Only negative - the location is not the best. You are far removed from beautiful mountain nestled Kobe and the vibrant downtown scene there. but all in all - it's a great hotel and if you need to be in this area, you will be ok with it!

It was a pleasure to stay at the Portopia Hotel in Kobe. Staff was very friendly, food was great. the rooms are very nice and very very very clean and the beds are realy comfortable. I also went to the spa, swimming pool and fitness centre. It was very nic, but rather expensive... The hotel was located in a real business area, so if you are looking for a tourist hotel, it is possible that you will be disappointed if you choose the Portopia.

Stayed one night at this hotel for a business trip, and as Japanese hotels go, the rooms are huge. The room was clean, good view etc faultless. Staff were excellent, good English. The biggest shock was the price, very low for what you get. Would recommend to anyone. If the hotel asked me, I don't think I could make any suggestions for improvement to them. Well done to Hotel Portopia.

This is a large and proper four-star quality property, and while not in the center of town, the hotel is about 10 minutes ride from Kobe airport on the monorail. Free wifi in all rooms. Nice lobby cafe and restaurants suitable for business meetings. I was not pleased however to learn that the spa/sauna is not open until late, so business travelers wanting to lie back after a full day of meetings cannot use it.

The hotel is OK, but a bit far away. If you stay there, do not miss view from top floor bar/restaurant. As for staying here - fine for conference or wedding, not good if you wish to enjoy dinner in town.
