Very good location, 10 minutes away from the historic center. Rooms need an update, but very spacious and kept clean. Good and friendly service from the front desk staff. Would definitely recommend if at a good price.

We were looking for a clean, reasonably priced hotel that was close to the city center for our trip to Lecce. Similar to other reviews we were hesitant to book based on reviews, but the availability of our first hotel choice fell through so we decided to give the President Hotel a shot. We were so glad we did! It was exactly what we were looking for. Mind you, we were not looking for an opulant resort, or to spend significant time in our room, so it was of no concern to us that the room was somewhat dated. Not at all bad or in dis-repair, just dated. The room was clean, brightly lit and well maintained. The staff throughout the hotel were excellent. Upon arrival the front desk immediately saw through my poor Italian and cheerfully assisted us in English. This was true of the wait staff as well. The in-room WiFi worked fine. The breakfast was ample, and the wait staff were professional and engaging (in English). We used the underground parking for our rental car (10 Euro per day). It was a very short and easy walk to the city center monuments. We will certainly stay here again when we return.

We were apprehensive about booking this hotel because of the reports about it being dated. However, we were very pleasantly surprised.There is a large public area on entry and the reception staff were very attentive and professional and always happy to help. The rooms and bathrooms are immaculate. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast every day and the staff were very attentive - except they always seemed to think we were with the various tour groups that stayed there. We used the underground car park each night which was a blessing as the traffic was chaotic when returning to the hotel in the early evening as it is very close to the main shopping area. Altogether a very pleasant hotel to stay in and would recommend it for its situation in Lecce although as it is in the town, there is no view!

Many reports state that this hotel dated. This may be so but it is still pristine. The large rooms and bathrooms are immaculate, the public areas similar and the restaurant excellent. We enjoyed a super breakfast every day, served by friendly, attentive and professional waiting staff. The dinners were also excellent value. We were very comfortable here, the car was safe in the underground car park and we were less than five minutes walk from the magnificent and atmospheric old town with its many restaurants and cafes.

The President Hotel is located on the east side of the downtown area of Lecce. It is several stories high, on an urban street. The view out my window was of another building across the street. It was all right, but not outstanding. My tour group visited the main historic sites in the center of Lecce, and then walked back to the hotel, which was a good distance of about 10 or more blocks. It was less than a mile, but getting close to that. We ate at the hotel restaurant that night, and the food was good. The President Hotel was okay, but I wouldn't say it was outstanding.
