My 2 siblings and 3 nephews stayed at Park Lane Causeway Bay on May 16 to 18. We availed of Cathay Pacific's promo of buy 2 get 1 tour package. We opted to stay at Park Lane which is one of the hotels included in Cathay' s list of hotels to choose from. In each trip that I make to Hong Kong, I never missed to go to Causeway Bay even if meant a far travel from the hotel in Tung Chung where I always stay. I just love it at Causeway Bay, period. So Park Lane at Causeway Bay sounded perfect to me. We arrived at the hotel a little past noon and immediately proceeded to the front desk taking all the chances we might be accommodated for early check in. How lucky we were that we were first in line. We told the staff at the front desk about our room preference and he was very helpful. He told us that we are to occupy two rooms on the 24th floor, a smoking floor. As the hotel is fully booked, we were compelled to stay in a smoking floor even if we are all non smokers and with accompanying children. He advised us to come back at 2 o'clock as this is the normal check in time besides the rooms we were to occupy were still being cleaned. This took us an hour or so at the front desk. The whole time, my nephews were standing in a corner as there were no seats available. There were so many tourists checking in & out so there was hardly any vacant chair. What a small lobby for such a busy hotel! We left our luggage at the concierge and hurriedly left for a quick lunch. We came back at 2 o'clock and was told by the front desk that we were upgraded to bigger rooms at a non smoking floor. But then again, we still could not get to our rooms because the two rooms were still being cleaned. How nice! If the first time at the front desk took us an hour, the second time around took us centuries. It was an excruciatingly, terribly, horribly looooooooooong wait. To date, I could still not get over the dilemma of the long wait I experienced checking in at Park Lane. The rooms we occupied are the newly renovated rooms, clean and neither small nor big but good enough to occupy three guests. Both rooms are alike, complete with toiletries and bottled water. If only for this, i was appeased after that long waiting time at the front desk. Park Lane boasts of its gym with so and so floor area and modern gym equipment. I tried to go to the gym but was disappointed to find out that the use of the gym facility was not included in the package we got from Cathay. So there is such a thing! For all the gym buffs planning to stay at Park Lane, please ask your travel agents if the use of the gym facility is included. Otherwise, you will be charged HK$100 for one time usage of the facility. The pros - The location of Park Lane is perfect. Shopping malls are every where. A few steps away is a 24 hr grocery. The mtr station is a few minutes walk. But the best among the rest - wifi at the lobby area ONLY is very fast! The con - long waiting time. You have to have the patience and your whole life to wait.

just got back from a trip. loved to stay in this hotel because of the location. metro railway station , a 8 minute walk and can take you anywhere you want. grocery is steps away and openws 24 hours a day . 8 cinemas... 4 across the street and 2 a block away. shops open until 10pm . the biggest dept store SOGO is 5 minute walk and you can find expensive stuff.... hermes, gucci, prada and there are a lot of less expensive stuff too. Further away around 15 minute walk is TIME SQUARE another huge dept store. restaurants everywhere . you can take a cab to the peak tram from the hotel ( dont go during peak hours) and ride the tram up victorias peak and you can see the whole of hong kong. for disneyland... take the mtr... its much cheaper. hotel service is good. i stayed at 1318 and a renovated room. very comfortable. the rooms are really big... thats why sometimes its very expensive. concierge top rate service.... there is free water, coffee and tea in the room.

Had a one night stay at the expense of an airline due to a delayed flight. Room a bit small for the standard of hotel, but OK in a Hong Kong setting. However, all expected facilities - bath, shower, TV with a reasonable selection. Wifi and ethernet cable, but not for free. No hotel restaurant, but we were given vouchers for a good buffet restaurant in the same building. A bus service is available to the airport or to the airport train express station (which I would recommend, having tried both). Right in the middle of the fashion area and many shops and restaurants. Well located indeed to access the business area of the main island.

A good room facing the bay. Got the boutique feel with very friendly staff and a inviting bar area off the main lobby. Sort of clubby feel that was comforting and inviting. Great restaurants in the area in a three block radius. The hotels breakfast's were amazing with Japanese, Chinese and Western favorites. A great value for the money on Hong Kong Island in the Causeway Bay area.

Quiet room, noisy lobby especially weekends! Bathroom on the small side. Wifi works great in the room. I liked the room and so did my husband. It's very comfortable and Ikea is right below the hotel!
