I recommend

this is a very pleasant and well run hotel, in an excellent location for travel links and for walking access to the old town. I would very definitely use it again.

Good Standard Hotel

posted May 16, 2012

The hotel was renovated recently. The staff are very helpful and the restaurant was among the better places ate in Munich. Location is to the North of the Central Train Station - which is definitely much better that the southern side of the station. No free wi-fi was disappointing. Munich is an expensive city and you don't get much value for money.

Will be coming back again

I stayed here from 27 April to 1 May 2012. The hotel is located directly opposite the central station. To get there go to the main line platform and look for platform 26, The exit for the hotel is beside this platform and directly opposite. Booking in was quick and easy with Faridah who was lovely and friendly with a big smile. She even took time to get a map and show where the hotel ws located in relation to everything and offered to get us any other information. She was excellent. Thank you very much. My room was lovely and nicely decorated, the bed is very very comfortable and house keeping keep the rooms spotless. Overall excellent and I will be coming back here again to stay when I return to Munchen.

Clean and convenient

Located across from the central train station and the Lufthansa airport shuttle stop, the Eden Hotel Wolff is convenient for travelers. It's also convenient to the Gray Line tours location. With the convenience comes the somewhat seedy train station vibe of the neighborhood. The immediate block or two around the hotel offers fast food restaurants and nothing really nice (within a wider radius, try the pleasant cafe at the nearby botanical garden or the trendy L'Osteria on Lenbachplatz.) The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to Marienplatz. It's no problem in temperate weather but in the winter, you might want to stay closer to the center of things or plan on using tram or taxis to get around. As for the hotel itself, I would not call it a luxury hotel. When my daughter and I walked into our room, we actually stopped to laugh at the ugliness of the furniture -- I mean, really, an olive green velvet daybed with red chenille pillows! Who comes up with this stuff? Also our room was rather dark, with only one window. On the plus side, the comfortable bed had very nice individual duvets and the bath was marble and very clean. The hotel is pretty well up to date, with a nice glass elevator, considering that it's been around for more than 100 years. They do have an amusing collection of art works including religious figures, grouchy ancestors and woodland scenes. The bugling elk on the fifth floor landing looks like he has bad breath. I was happy that the room included breakfast, as the buffet was very nice. Hotel staff were very helpful with requests including late check out and shuttle bus tickets.

I miss that bed!

Loved the Eden Wolff. Traveled around Germany for three weeks in April 2012 and of the 6 hotels I stayed at, the Eden Wolff was easily my favorite. The staff were great, room was a good size with a beautiful bathroom, the breakfast was excellent and the gym was an added bonus- not a huge gym, but stylish, spotlessly clean and enough equipment to do the trick. The best thing of all was the phenomenal bed. I could kick myself for not checking to see what company made that mattress- it was heavenly. Also, staying near the Hauptbahnhof isn't my first choice of location when visiting Munich, but the Eden Wolff is on the northside which is much quieter and lacks the seediness of the south side of the station where most of the other hotels are located. Walking to the Altstadt and all the major department stores is quick and easy and the Lufthansa airport bus is literally a few steps away. I would highly recommend a stay here and would certainly stay here again on my next trip to Munich.
