The location of this hotel is excellent, you can have a good walk around the city centre, lots of shops high end to foot path bargains. Loads of restaurants around the area. The metro station is very near. The breakfast is not worth having in the hotel, loads of options near the railway station within 500-800 meters and all reasonably priced with a huge variety to eat or to takeaway. One thing to remember there are lots of unsavory characters who can rip you off your money by posing as policemen or equivalent. Avoid unpopulated or dark areas in the evenings in Hannover. We got ripped of 900 Euros by supposedly drug enforcement cops. Happened quickly and were taken by surprise. There are notices about pick pockets but nobody warned us about this - specially fake cops.

This hotel had a great location, close to the train station, restaurants and shopping. It is a older hotel, but they have updated it nicely. The restaurant for breakfast was very good and the staff was very accomodating. Rooms were clean, but very small. In my rating it is about 3.75 stars

Perfectly placed central city hotel with nice rooms, even smoking rooms are still on offer! Nice sitting and " office" area in the room. Good beds and pillows, nice bathroom with a super shower. Roomservice very good and plenty of comfortable space to eat it. The rooms to the front are somewhat noisy, but then it is in the center of town closed to the main railway station. Restaurant served delicious food and the buffet breakfast was super.

There is a lot to like about the Kastens Luisenhof Hotel in Hannover! It starts with friendly, professional service. There was a problem with my reservation this past stay (my doing) but the hotel quickly corrected things despite a very full house. The double rooms are quite spacious and well appointed. (smaller single rooms are to be avoided). The décor is tasteful, muted and well maintained. The marble bathrooms are quite large by European standards. There is a very nice gym and spa area. Frankly I was surprised how nice it was given this is a vintage property - - a nice reward for keeping up an exercise routine while traveling. Finally, you can’t beat the location. It’s a very short walk to the central train station and right in the middle of the nicest shopping areas. (for fellow Americans who need their Starbucks fix as badly as I do…there is even a Starbucks a few blocks away!) The only downside of this hotel is that I can’t earn Starwood, Hilton, Marriott or Intercontinental points. I travel non-stop for work so that’s important to me. I often stay at the Sheraton Pelikan (see review on Trip Advisor) but the Luisenhof is a better hotel.

This is my second stay that this very sweet little property. Last stay I booked through a group block and received the most fantastic room. This time booked through an online TA discounter and received a much less desirable room, although still well appointed and comfortable. Staff is still wonderfully professional and warm, hotel is still well maintained and very convenient to the train station 2 blocks away. This time I had the opportunity to use their restaurant for breakfast and they offered a very nice buffet which I enjoyed. Everyone speaks English which is helpful to those that don't speak German.
