Ku'Damm 101 is higher priced than other hotels in the area, so we were inclined to believe that the experience would be better. However, the place was a disappointing experience. The hotel charges extra for everything: Small bottle of drinking water E 2,80. Internet E 1,90 per hour. No minibar in rooms. Hotel bar so unlovely (green neon lightning) that you only make a very short stay. Breakfast room like a noisy, big industrial hall. But, in all fairness, the food was fresh and nicely presented. The hotel had problems with the shower in our room, as well as several others. It went from warm to scalding hot to cold. We complained, but no refund was offered.

This is my 2nd time I stayed in Ku'damm 101. I booked a room in the "upperclas" which is more spacious than the standard room. My room (601) on the corner has a high ceiling and on two sides huge windows overlooking Kurfurstendamm. Nice, minimal, design. Windows are 95% sound-proofed. There is a small bath tub, good shower, aircon, tv with digital channels, comfortable chairs, a big desk, and most important a large and very comfortable bed; we sleep like roses. Another good pooint is the breakfast with nice bites and great latte coffee. And the very friendly and helpful staff. The Hotel is at the end of K'damm with a busstop around the corner and 5 minutes walk to both an S-Bahn station and U-bahn Adenaurerplatz, from where you can take the bus to Tegel Airport. Nothing to complain? Yes... there is no minibar (they offer something portable), the internet costs are too high (50 E for my week stay) and the 5 drops of shampoo in plastic.

LOCATION: This hotel is on one of the main shopping streets in Berlin, but a distance away from most shops/connections so is about 30 minutes to walk to them if you wanted to. It's a quieter, nice area with some smaller convenience shops around, but is more on the border of the action than central to it. From the main railway station, you need to change to the S-Bahn on the top level, take it a few stops to Zoogarten, walk two blocks south, then catch a bus for about 10 minutes along Kurfurstendamm to get to the hotel. The walk from Zoogarten also goes past a slightly more seedy area, not dangerous, but has some adult entertainment displays, so is something to keep in mind if going that way and you'd prefer to avoid it. FRONT OF HOUSE SERVICE: Staff hotel were very pleasant and helpful. We arrived early in the day, and the room was made available without issue although we were fortunate that it was a quieter travel time. When passing through, front desk staff were always happy to chat in passing and help as needed. ROOMS: We booked a Comfort Class room which was large, but the minimalist approach, black, grey and white colour scheme and hard surfaces gave it a colder feel (see pictures). Beds were single mattresses joined together as is typical for Europe. The room had beds with a comforter on top of a sheet, hard chairs, table, wardrobe and mini-fridge with an LCD tv. A cordless phone was in place instead of the standard wired telephone. The bathroom had a shower, hair dryer, large and small mirror and toilet, all in good condition and presentation, again in black and white. The shower head was an adequate height. Toiletries were supplied in individual packaging. (See pictures.) The interior corridors and lifts to the rooms were in fine condition but again were all hard and grey/white surfaces, so felt a little like a hospital. AMENITIES: Two computers with internet and office applications are available near the foyer. Wifi is extra cost (from 1.9E/hour, cheaper for longer). There's also a bar near the foyer, and they make some great drinks. DINING: A breakfast buffet is available (at extra cost) from a room on the top floor with local views. The buffet has a reasonable range of cold items only, but everything comes pre-served on plates rather than serving yourself and I found some portions very small e.g. a glass with a few slices of frut, and the variety was not as great as elsewhere. While you could then take 2 serves of an item if you desired, it seems wasteful and unnecessarily labourious for them to do that. Your table wound up with masses of crockery, a glass for a few pieces of fruit/vegies, a tiny bowl for cereal, a little cup for yoghurt, another for an egg, and so on. Also, the hard boiled eggs were _not_ hard boiled each day I tried them. OVERALL: A pleasantly presented hotel in Berlin with great staff, though the hard surfaces throughout the hotel could do with a little softening and the breakfast buffet was a little disappointing in the way it was organised. An interesting place to stay though, and reasonably located if you don't mind travelling to get most places.

what can i say about this hotel, well i,ll try and start I was blown away by how modern and clean the actual hotel is, the staff were very helpful and friendly, a nice smile greeted my wife and i every time we left and returned to the hotel. The rooms are very quite even though we were on a main road. The location could not be bettered for the restaurants, bars and the transport links. One big tip is, buy one of the Berlin welcome cards it makes getting lost on the u bahn fun without costing you anything. I can not recommend this hotel enough. Many thanks to the hotel staff and the Berliners we meet for making our stay in Berlin so enjoyable . We shall definitely return.

Hi, I have been in your hotel from 14 to 16 March 2012 in the room 610. The room was clean and comfortable. The receptionist made me welcome and he was very cheerful. The two drawbacks was the price of the internet connection and the street noises and especially the morning between 6:30 and 8:00. Next time, I would like to test a room looks onto the gardens.
