Good value to get to the new expo center

posted May 16, 2012

I chose the Yue because this time it was significantly cheaper than the Kerry hotel adjacent to the fair, where I had stayed before. The hotel is smaller, effectively closer to a "boutique hotel" to Asian standards. With a very late arrival in the day, I was lucky to be upgraded to large suite with an interesting white deco. The Yue is next to a subway station and rapidly accessible from Pudong airport. It is also next to a beautiful park, making it a relatively quiet location but for the large road between the park and the hotel (only light traffic at night though). The hotel itself, the service offered, the amount of restaurants etc...clearly don't match those of the Kerry but for half the price it was a really good alternative if you're on a tighter budget or have a small team to lodge. If the weather allows you can walk to the exhibition center (about 15 min) ; they also have a free shuttle service. Service was OK, my room was very clean and everything worked well. The main restaurant closed early (11PM) and there is nothing around but a small 7/11 type supermarket. The bar is cosy but small and had limited choice of snacks after hours. The breakfast was just OK and again no match to the Kerry, which also offers the promity of a modern "mall" with restaurants and shops that the Yue doesn't offer. I would prefer the Kerry when the prices are attractive, but I would not mind staying to the Yue either if visiting the expo center.

Love this boutique hotel

Love this well lighted, conveniently located hotel. All their staff speak good English. Thier bed are very comfortable. Excellent location for those going to the New Shanghai Expo, they have free shuttle services n the morning. The coffee/bread shop in the ground floor (access is outside the hotel) serves quite good selection of bread. Their is also a convenient store located right at the back of the hotel. Their is a direct access to the hotel from the rail station (line 2), so very convenient if you need to go to other places.

Well managed boutique hotel in Pudong

The Yue Shanghai Hotel is located 10 minutes away from the New International Exhibition Centre. Being a boutique hotel, it's decorations are charmingly arranged with a fusion of west and east (more china taste). It offers comfortable accommodation and efficient services to visitors who conduct his business or activities in Pudong area. Its buffet breakfast (normally included in the room rate) have a good selection of qualilty food, comparable to any 5 stars hotel. Free wirefire is offered in Deluxe rooms and in public areas (lobby, restuarants & bar) for all guests. Opposite to the hotel, is good beautiful park and it is a wonderful venue for those who likes to run or walk.

This hotel is perfect for guest attending the exhibit at New Shanghai Expo Center. It is convenient located at the no 4 exit of the no 2 line of the subway. Service is excellent! The room is new and comfortable. The surroundings is safe and relaxing, there is huge park infront of it. The bake shop beside the hotel is delicious and price reasonably.

after 20 nights and days of visiting China and sleeping in several different hotels. The Yue shanghai was an absolute delight. The staff was friendly, available and happy to acomidate with questions or concerns. The rooms are quite stylish with endless and amazing views of the city. The high point for this tired traveler, was the krispy clean and so-ooo comfortable king size bed with some of the most comfortable pillows I think Ive ever slept on.
