Centrally located Hotel de France offers large, comfortable, clean rooms at a very reasonable price. The staff was always helpful, in particular a bellman, who was always there with good advice if the desk was getting overwhelmed. The on-property bar is comfortable, and the breakfasts are good. It's not an exciting hotel, but definitely a solid one. I'd definitely look into staying here again on my next trip to Vienna. PS. If you are looking for a good restaurant nearby, try and find "Schubert"

Great location, on par with European hotels re:size etc.,, good breakfast, windows open but our air fine, clean rooms, quiet, free wireless with room, helpful staff....would stay again

The rooms are spacious but very dated with inadequate air circulation and no view because of the high windows. The room was really hot and stuffy, but the location and price make it a good option for a couple of days. The staff was very kind and helpful.

Location The location of the hotel is excellent. A lot of restaurants nearby. Underground station a few meters away. The shopping center Pedestrian zone is a few minutes walk through a very nice area. Room I booked through Booking.com and got a very spacious room with a large bathroom and storage area overlooking the street and very quiet. The reception people were very nice and patient and courteous. The room was rather outdated and in need of and update, so was the bathroom. not to the point of it being unpleasant but it wasn't indulging. The bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast Breakfast was included in the room rate. It was very nice including hot dishes in a very nice large room.

I spent one night in this Hotel and definitely the location is ideal, downtown. Common part are beautifull old Empire Slyle. The Restaurant and bar are ok as well . The room I had was large but a bit old. Not flat screen but an old Grunding tv and free WIFI. Vienna as other captial in Europe are busy cities so it depends the price you will pay for the room.
