Stayed a couple of nights as the reception of a wedding I attended was nearby. Hotel is quite large and has a huge hallway that all the rooms come off. There is also a large pool and a very large gym area. My room was quite spacious, you walk in, and it has an office, then the bathroom, then the room. The size of the room was quite a decent space. Bathroom a little small but not too bad. I hated the shower - it kept changing temperatures on me. I got burnt at one point!! I also did not like the toilet... lets just say it doesn't have a very good flush and you have to uh... flush it a couple of times for everything to go down... VERY annoying! The aircon was a disaster, every now and then it would let out a loud rattle, like the fan was hitting something. it was very loud and disturbing during the night!! The gym was the biggest i have ever seen in a hotel. it had everything a normal gym has and plenty of it!! I didn't buy room service as I thought the prices were too high for the standard of this hotel! In all, the design, features and amenities of this hotel are fantastic... but everything is very run down. If it were given a face lift, it would be a very nice hotel. it even has a tennis court, but again that is very run down!! But in all - the place was good and I'd stay again if I had to be in the area for something. But I definitely think it could be a lot better!

I stayed here for 2 nights on business, and it was just fine. Yes, the hotel isn't brand new, but the rooms are some of the largest I've seen, with all the expected services. Nothing in my room was worn out or what I'd really called 'tired' and I'm fussy. Yes, some of the rooms are a walk from the reception, but that wasn't an issue for me. I had room service meals which arrived quickly and the food was very good; breakfast standard in the restaurant was what you expect of breakfast in a hotel and there was plenty of it, and a good choice. And the toaster toasted bread properly, and the water for tea was hot - two of my biggest gripes with hotel breakfasts. Staff were friendly and helpful. This was convenient to my meetings, and I'd stay here again.

Quite a large hotel, and for a 'first-timer' here, I was surprised at the lack of direction to my room, which meant I had to walk through the restaurant, then outside, across the way to another building. The room itself was quite large - there's a very large 'office' area on entry to the room - probably larger than necessary, then a good sized bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. Bathroom amenities were average - shampoo, bath gel and conditioner only -- no other things like body lotion, etc. which surprised me given the nightly price of the room. Room service was average - food arrived barely warm (which was probably due to the distance from the kitchen) and expensive (with an additional $5 charge for room service). Breakfast buffet is $28 per person - and again, average. The bed itself was quite uncomfortable (lumpy) but the sheets were very crisp and clean! It was a cold night and I was trying to turn on the reverse-cycle air conditioning and noticed the temperature setting was already on 29degrees....wouldn't go any higher, but when turned on, the air coming out was cool, and certainly no where near 29!!! Shuttle service is good (both pickup and dropoff) to businesses in the area. Would I stay here again? Well, there's not many hotels to choose from. If their target clientele is businesses, they should be offering Wifi / internet and buffet breakfast, and newspaper delivery to the room included.

The Stamford, as we know it is a well-known hotel chain. We stayed there on the 11th and 12th of May 2012, as it was conveniently located to a wedding reception we were invited to. Stamford is an enormous hotel, and walking to our Room 2043 from the Reception area took a few minutes on the ground level. Stamford is a well-equipped hotel with a tennis court and a gym and various restaurants to feed your hungry stomachs, however with a high price to match. Their breakfast buffet was $28 AUD per person, and if you order room service, they will charge you a $5 AUD tray service fee. So, I was impressed with the long walk to our room, and there was even a door bell at the front door which was a nice touch if you lived back in the 80's. Why a door bell? Was the room HUGE enough to be requiring a door bell? Well, the room was mediocre; as you enter you are greeted by the "office" floor space, then the bathroom and then the "double bed". The office was big enough to swing half a cat, however the toilet wasn't. The double bed were two single beds pushed together with a decor to really take you back to the 1980s. The room itself was not that big, but comfortable enough for two people. As I looked around our room, I noticed the air conditioner rattling, and so it rattled ever few minutes until really, if you are a light sleeper then you can say goodbye to a good night's sleep as the air conditioner rattled and it screamed at you like a little tractor was inside those vents trying to really insist that you deserved a crap treatment for paying for a cheap room. Not only were we annoyed by the air conditioner’s mood swings, but we were also annoyed by the lack of attentive staff - there was a pizza box that sat on Entry 3 for the two nights that we stayed. All in all, I would not stay at the Stamford ever again. After much deliberation, I would rather chew on broken glass rather than put myself through that situation again. The only good thing about the hotel was that it provided you with free parking, as you really need a car to go outside the Stamford so you can search for nearby premises to find cheap eateries.

Good location for the business district but the hotel was tired and run-down. Restaurant menu was extremly limited and became boring! Bar closed very early at night too. Don't expect a great sleep either with the frequent fire alarms and evacuations. Wouldn't recommend or stay again.
