Views of the beach were splendid! Rooms are very dated and need a facelift. Pinboard in the room was a strange addition, with just 3 pamphlets pinned to it. My husband noticed it first, which says something in itself! Cocktails and oysters in Horizons was nice. Good service. Breakfast was on mothers day...customers staying at the hotel got put in the cocktail bar so that they could have bookings from outside the hotel. The service and organisation of this was very poor. People were waiting 45 minutes longer than what they were told and had felt like second rare guests. Our stay was okay but certainly not anything particularly special.

We were warmly welcomed on arrival, the young man who helped us with our bags and then parked the car was exceptional( sorry I don't remember his name) he made sure to explain everything and make sure we had no questions. Check in went smoothly and again all details were thoroughly explained. The room was nice and comfortable, the balcony nice, maybe a chair or 2 would have been nice, but no complaints. The staff were all friendly and accomadating. The cocktail bar was fun with live music. The restaurant was great and the staff excellent. While this was not the best hotel we have ever stayed at, the staff and their attentiveness made the overall experience enjoyable. Thank you.

Had the opportunity to spend an evening here recently. The service by the check in staff was great and the hotel itself of good standard.BUT i am afraid that i cannot say the same for the Bar service. We had been in Adelaide to attend the races and watch the unbeaten Black Caviar. On returning from the race course at 6.10 we went into the Horrizons Bar to have a drink with friends. We were asked if we had reserved a table to which we replied we were not informed we had to. The bar person then told us that all tables had been reserved and that if we wanted to have a drink then we should go to the other bar. We did and after getting a table and chairs organised were told that this bar was closed and we needed to go downstairs to get served. We left in disgust and ventured down the street another hotel where we were treated with the respect that should have beed afforded to us from the Stamford. It really spoiled the whole day so I recomend that if you want to go for a cocktail you book in advance. Strange way to run a hotel Bar.

Location fantastic right in the heart of Glenelg, ocean view very relaxing, price was good by booking online. The staff were extremely helpful. At check in we were upgraded (without asking) so can't complain about the room. The lift and room card worked fine for us. We thought the bed was comfortable and had no trouble sleeping. Even though it was a hot week we didn't bother with the aircon just opened the door to get a lovely breeze, so no idea if it was noisy. The only negative was the very loud noise when the people in the next room showered and yes the rooms were not as luxurious as I expected for a 5 star hotel. I also was surprised to see brochures on a pin-board. Would stay there again and would recommend it to others.
