In 2008, Munich is celebrating its 850th birthday with a summer full of celebrations and events. The five Munich WORLDHOTELS properties are offering special anniversary packages, ranging from the Deluxe Collection members Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg and München Palace to the First Class Collection members Fleming’s Hotel München-City, Fleming’s Hotel München-Schwabing and Eden Hotel Wolff.
The motto of the anniversary is ‘Building Bridges’; a celebration of the cities movement from a monastery to the hub of culture and high-technology that it is today. The celebrations to be held throughout the summer of 2008 include theatrical shows, concerts, exhibitions in addition to the special events including the City foundation festival (June 14th-15th), an annual event that this year will be expanded to fully celebrate the birthday. The Old Town Ring Road Festival (July 19th – 20th) is a musical and theatrical journey in time on the Old Town Ring Road and the Isar Bridge Festival (August 1st – 3rd) will incorporate the romantic elements of the city with light installations, music and dancing on the bridges and riverbanks.

From July 11-13 2007, the property is offering a special package including two nights in a double deluxe room, breakfast buffet, welcome drink at the Palace Bar, a public transportation ticket for two as well as usage of sauna, work out room, and parking space free of charge.
As a special highlight, the package also includes two premium category tickets to the celebration concert of the renowned Munich Philharmonic performing Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the famous “Ode to Joy” lyrics by Friedrich Schiller.
